Kaedrin .. about ember guard fire shield

Please read this through, i know its a pain.

You might remember me .. im basically the only real advocate for or against ember guard fire shield functioning as it used to. Many months ago I made posts begging you not to change the fire shield, which at the time was functioning just like elemental shield by adding damage per caster level in addition to the the 1d6. Then, simply because one or two people said it was broken and asked you to fix it, you changed it to what the description said it was.

Your so called fix is why I quit playing all those months ago, but Im back now, and my staying may depend on this. Im not saying you care, Im sure you dont, no one does, Im just saying thats all.

The build is offensively very weak, although the defense of the build is great. That being said, I relied on the elemental shield to kill many high level creatures. Because My ab wasnt high enough to realistically make my way through tough areas in a reasonable time, I have to use the fire shield to allow them to kill themselves while my tank abilities and spells keep me alive. This isnt always the case, but it is enough of the time that not having the fire shield function this way basically gimps me in a major way that I have not figured out a way to recover from (which is why i quit), and its not for lack of trying. The build is gimped in the first place, any experienced player will tell you that. This is why I am and always have been the only real player on the lod server who uses it as a staple. Its tough, but I like it that way, and most importantly I like to be different. Please dont punish me for wanting to be different from everyone else. Please return the fire shield to its previous damage and simply change the description instead so people cant complain that its broken. Im not being selfish here, as ive said in the past, I honestly believe this balances the build, and thus the game, in a good and fair way.

Sorry for long post, but I am and always have been very firm in my beliefs about this issue.

If you are on the LoA server then there is nothing I can do for you. The Staff of several PWs (including LoA) are why it got changed.

sorry kaedrin. i shouldnt have behaved that way and im both sorry and ashamed.

with that said, i dont give a crap about the fire shield thing, its really not that important. if loa wants it that way, then you have my blessing to keep it that way.

however, please look into the shift delay bug i just discovered.

i think im the only person who actually used to play with ember guards on loa before the last patch, when this change occurred, so no doubt thats why im the only one reporting it.

like i said, it didnt exist before the last patch. it is really problematic for my character. I have to wait 4 seconds or so after I unshift to reshift, and on top of that I often have to wait for the new round to start before the shifting begins, further adding to the time delay. I have to reshift due to the infamous autosave bug. On the Loa server, it occurs every 5 minutes. As you are aware, it seriously cripples your stats in such a way that the only way to continue fighting and be able to inflict damage is to unshift and reshift. Previously, I had learned to be quick about reshifting and about exactly when I would unshift so as to minimize the damage, and even then there were many close calls and deaths. Having this bugged delay is impossible to work around, aside from quitting the ember guard build all together. The delay does not affect any other forms.
