Help with Warrior of Darkness abilities please!

Hey there all...

First off, thanks Kaedrin for extending the playability of NWN2.

Secondly, I am playing my first Warrior of Darkness, and have just hit level 2. I am having the experience that when I use the Darkling Blade ability, there is no choice offered for the type of weapon enhancement I'd like, which I expected from having read the class description. Is there something I am missing, or is this a bug of some sort? (all I get is flaming, and with the great many creatures with fire resistance, I'd like to choose other abilities too)

What else do you have in your override because it sounds like the spells.2da is being blocked by something else.

My override was clear when I added your mod.

It works for me. Just tested it again. The same code is active on servers as well.

I just cleared my override folder again, and re-extracted KaedPRCPack_v1.41.4 into it...and the trouble continues. Is there a later version perhaps?

I should say that I installed SoZ from the NWN Complete collection, if that makes any difference from a standard installation from the standalone versions.

Which campaign are you trying? Can you search your machine for spells.2da? Can you check the override in both the user folder *and* the install folder? Can you use the console to give yourself exp and level up to 5 wod and see if you gain the dr?

try a level 1 cleric and see if the custom spells I've added work?

Playing the original campaign. (never gone through on the dark side)

I get two results from a search of the override folder: "spells.2da" and "des_crft_spells.2da".

Where exactly can I locate the install folder?

I tried running it up to level 5 and 10, and no dice.

Took a level in cleric (rather than WoD) and found that Blessed Aim does indeed give ranged weapons +2 attack. That was done from the very same point that progressing in WoD did not generate anything but the flame effect. (although, it did generate the flame effect on both weapons of my dual wielding character)

Okay...I am giving up for the night. Here's what I have tried, and the results:

I leveled up a good fighter to Anointed Knight, and found the same held true. (no shock)
I leveled a druid to Lion of Taslid (3) to see if the similar mechanics would deny the choice of animal forms: Indeed, I became a bear, with no choice.
I renamed the override folder, and moved it out of the directory, and replaced it with a new, blank folder called "override", to ensure their wasn't some kind of crazy ass hidden file I somehow couldn't see screwing with your code. I then re-installed your mod to the override folder, and the problems persisted.
I moved the second "spells" 2da file from the override folder, and it did not solve the problem.
I also tested this in the SoZ campaign environment, to no avail.

All I can think to try beyond that is a complete uninstall/re-install...which I don't really want to do.

Did you search your whole hard drive for spells.2da yet?

The two instances in the override folder are the only appearance of "spells.2da" anywhere on my hdd.

Only the 'My Documents' override should have files. Clear the other one out.

the two instances are the "spells.2da" and the "des_crft_spells.2da" and both are in the override folder within my documents. Deleting the latter had no discernible effect on the problem, and I imagine it would likely cause problems elsewhere in your mod, so I restored it.

Assuming you have NWN2, MotB, and SoZ all installed and registered then you are the first person in 5 years for this to not work with that wasn't user error.

As someone who has developed my own applications, I understand the preponderance of errors of this type fall within the "pebcak" category. However, I have followed your instructions precisely, and re-loaded and re-downloaded the mod multiple times, with nil effect on the problem. In the end, it simply reduces the utility of a handful of the PrCs, which only mitigates, not eliminates, my enjoyment of your mod.
