Does the Skullclan Hunter's Sword of Light/Darkness work with bows or melee weapons only?

A little testing shows that it does work with bows (pardon the rhyme). The feat description seemed to indicate as much, but I guess I got hung up on it being the "Sword" of light/darkness. My character is about to try it for the first time in the crypts in the Blacklake district. Should be a back-stabbin' good time!
