Re: New races?
The Gloaming and the Lythari are considered next I believe. But since there's nothing in the Work in Progress section it might take a while.

would like to see a neverwinter 1 original gnome
bonus to concentration and favoured class wizard (illusionist), they were dead good fun. was sad to see they had disappeared by neverwinter 2.

Re: New races?
It would be nice to see Ghostwise Halflings and Wild Dwarves, which people expected to get in SoZ, but rather got monstrous races...

Re: New races?
The only difference Ghostwise Halflings have is that their favored class is Barbarian. Seriously? The Wild Dwarves would be a decent choice, but we have 3 Dwarves already do we need another one? Yuan-ti and Gray Orc are nice and different choices.

Sorry, but imo, we didn't really need monster races. I personally don't like their inclusion. I like traditional races with subtle differences as PCs, like cultural differences rather than vastly different and absurd appearances. Stats don't need to vastly different either in order for a race to be interesting.Archaos wrote:The only difference Ghostwise Halflings have is that their favored class is Barbarian. Seriously? I think it would have been much more awesome had OBE spent their modelling efforts to make Wild Dwarves and Ghostwise Halflings with unique models like the Wild Elf, rather than two monsterous races that will likely either get banned or restricted to some extent on most RP servers.
Most people I've seen that play Yuan-ti and Grey Orcs tend to either no idea of the lore/concept behind them or they use them as powerbuilds, or both.
But this is a matter of my preference, so it's rather redundant to argue about it. All I wanted was to request two subraces I think should have been included included in the original game.

Personally I prefer new races and classes that we haven't seen before. If they included Ghostwise Halfling, people would definately say how lazy they were. Also Ghostwise Haflings are already in the data files, they can be enabled any time you want.
Variations of existing races can be made by the community, like Kaedrin did with Star Elf/Painted Elf/Deep Imaskari.
What we need is brand new stuff, not slight variations of things that were done in the past. Yuan-ti/Gray Orc/Genasi are totally new.
Also Yuan-ti have almost the same stats as the Drow and look and act mostly human and civilized. And Gray Orcs are much more civilized than Orcs and look in both stats and appearance more similar to half-orcs. So I wouldn't really call them monster races. It's not like they enabled the Goblin/Wererat/Half-Ogre races.
I believe it was a good move that they moved out of the Dwarf/Elf mold and did something new we haven't seen before.

ideally both
new and revamped races would both be cool providing they aren't gamebreakingly potent. I'd love to see a playable Githzerai for instance, favoured class cleric with aasimar style stats.
